a few notes for the EF STM 40mm f2.8 lens I got:
1. It has nice metal (not plastic) EF mount.
2. It is made in Malaysia (not Japan).
3. It can do manual focus with Battery switched ON, and flip of the mode button (not full time on-the-fly manual, not mechanical manual focus without battery power).
4. Its AF even works on EOS-1N, 650, etc film cameras!! (so those teenagers got shrunk back to lovely kids again) ... but, on a EOS-1N the electronic driven manual focus will not start by turning the focus ring; it won't wake up to focus until the shutter button pressed halfway.
